I’m sure there are a few on here – what you got? I currently have a nice natural Yamaha RBX 270, but I foolishly went into a music shop the other other day with a friend who was buying something, and now I can feel a nasty case of GAS coming on (Gear Acquisition Syndrome). 🙂

Quite like the look of these ’70s’ P-Basses:

And as we all know looks are the most important thing.

I play guitar not bass – but there is something so very very “right” about the beautiful simplicity of the p- bass

Nice Stingray Mulletus. I have a MusicMan guitar (Sabre II) which I really like. Anyone know if the cheaper Sterling basses are any good?

I used to play this alot but don’t use ut any more so its for sale..

I use this all the time

Like Toys19 I have a Westone Thunder fretless, but a II not a I. Noce bass but the neck dive is a bitch.

Main bass is an Ibanez BTB 5 string
Also have a Takamine electroacoustic bass

My son uses the last 2 more than me and also uses a Peavy Cirrus BXP 4

We have Ashdown, Peavey and Roland combos.

Used to have a Peavey stack but gave it to a colleague’s son. He probably has better gear now as his band’s first album sold 7 million.

I also have an old (1981) Ibanez roadster which I have had from new… offers please…

A couple of Japanese Fenders (’51 P Reissue and ’60s J Reissue), a couple of Squiers (’70s VMJ and ’60s CVJ), and a ’78 US Fender Musicmaster, through a selection of Ashdowns…

And yes, I too am still rubbish. 🙄

tony_m – seeing as you are rubbish, you might as well just give it to me?

That’s the Squier ’70s VMJ, not a bad bit of kit and not very expensive either.

Fender Jazz Bass. I keep toying with buying a 5 string Musicman too.

Guitar wise its an Epiphone Casino, PRS Santana SE (knocked a chunk out of that one today :() a 1967 Martin Parlour guitar and a 5 string cigar box guitar! I’ve also got various old electrics and acoustics from when I was younger.

I’m no bassist but I have an Axl Player Deluxe bass. basically a £120 copy of a P-bass. it does the job

I actually feel embarrassed when I think about all the basses I have been through since I started playing (bloody hell, it was nearly 20 years ago…..!). I wish I could get back all the money I have thrown at basses and re-invest it into shiny bike things, but it’s all too late for that now. At least I do get a very modest income from my gear these days, and haven’t purchased any instruments or amplification for over 2 years now. I currently have about 7 basses, but only regularly play 3 of them to be honest. I have a Fodera Monarch and Wal Custom 5 String to do the coffee table thing, a lovely 1977 Fender Jazz Bass which sees the most use with the band, an 80`s Musicman Stingray, a Bravewood 60’s Fretless Jazz Bass replica, a Bacchus bass (Japanese thing)and a funny Westone Quantum stick bass thing which is the most 1980’s item I possess.

    I’m still crap though.

I should add that broken left clavicle caused by “over the bars” incident hasn’t helped with playing heavier instruments with a strap for long sets! Biking and bass playing don’t mix that well really, in my opinion. Have twonked my wrists and hands more times than I care to mention as well. Doesn’t help the old technique very much.

Mrs Toast are you in a metal band?

Alas, not any more, the last band I was in was a shockingly terrible Judas Priest tribute band! 😛

Used to have a five string Ibanez too, sold that a fair few years ago. I’ve not really played much in the last five years, keep telling myself I should get back into it…
