having never run post mount before, i’ve now stumbled across it on my new Rebas. however, the ‘slots’ on my XT calliper don’t offer enough side to side adjustment to allow the calliper to sit central, and i’ve got one pad (inside) constantly rubbing.

How do you overcome this? It seems a fairly basic flaw in the system (other than having threads in a magnesium lower) but i guess that horse has been repeatedly flogged elsewhere.

Can you shim the disc? and what about my new centre lock discs + hubs, can you shim them?

did you put the caliper in place, hold the brake, then do up the bolts?

Yep, then did it again having pushed the pistons back etc etc.

The inside pad has a little bit of piston showing, so there is room for adjustment, i just can’t persuade it to retract enough to stop rubbing, and the calliper is still a bit off centre…

Shim the disc is the easiest option or enlarge the caliper holes.

sounds like more of a piston issue, i’ve never had a problem lining up post mounts and far prefer it to the faff that IS mounts were.

I’ve had this before and just widened the caliper holes using a metal file. Bit medieval but works.
