    Just not sure.

Need to go shorter and wider on the Patriot.. maybe lower too I don’t know. I could run the bars lower and then wind the forks all the way out too to get slacker angles.. hmm…

i’m increasingly moving towards flat bars, if for no other reason than it makes them easier to adjust.

i’ll try and explain; with riser bars, the back sweep is ‘on top’ of the rise, if you rotate the bars to tweak the back-sweep up or down a bit, you also effectively lengthen/shorten the stem.

it’s not a huge problem i admit, but i’ve got a shonky wrist or 2, and am finding it tricky to get comfy, so have become a bit obsessed with bar-adjustment.

(also, wide flat bars look great)

((also, flat bars give you more room for stuff like lights, speedo’s, bells, etc))

With the 5deg stem I have now I’ve slammed it and kept 4 spacers, so there’s plenty of room to raise it again if I have a flat bar.

Do they both come with similar sweeps?

    i think so…

my new favourite bars are Ritchey trail x2 (i think), 740mm wide, 9 degree sweep, 280g, £25 or so.

but i’ve seen similar with sweep ranging from 3 to 12degrees (3T extendo)
