One tape cut in half or one tape a side?
Do you start from the inside or out side?
Left hand twist or right?
Blind folded, a few beers on bored and let fate decide the outcome.

tape you buy usually comes as two length, one per side. You may also have a couple of short lengths these are for the shifters.

Start from the end and work to the centre, the end plugs then make a neat finish. The tape that they supply for finishing at the centre is crap. use insulation tape instead.

One other detail, to make life easier use a few lengths of insulation tape to hold the cables in place before wrapping with bar tape.
