  • Bar end plugs, are mtb and road internal dimensions the same?

    I need some bar end plugs for my road bike as the standard ones are prone to popping out.

    There are some nice Giles Berthoud mtb ones on ebay for only £6, will they fit my road bars?

    MTB ones are all different internal diameters in my experience

    Inner diameters vary a lot depending on both brand and what they are made of. Your best bet is to try something with a wedge type fitting – like the Giles Berthoud ones you’ve found.
