Shimano, hydraulic, no obvious sign of damage, leak, or anything having popped but no pressure at all. The bang could have been coincidence I guess…

So, do brakes pop? I’ve never heard of it. Any point in a numpty attempting a fix, or is it a shop job or new brake?

UNless a piston pops out or a seal breaks it should not pop

Shimano brakes are pretty much non serviceable so you need to replace the broken bit – caliper, cable, lever. Then you need the fluid and bleed kit as well.

It is probably as cheap to get a new brake.

Pads are in. Went from working fine to not working in a moment. Odd one.
