Got bitten several times on Sunday's ride.

One of them has turned a bit yukky.
The skin is stretched and hot to the touch, also slightly swollen.
    I'm hobbling a teeny bit.
Last time this happened the doc told me to take piriton.

Any ideas please as to what to do, as it kept me awake last night?

    Thanks.

If piriton hasn't worked, I'd go to the doc's. MrT had one recently that made his hand swell up and had to have a course of antibiotics.

Or you could try germolene – it's got a local anaesthetic that makes the itch a little more bearable.

germolene works for me, wrap something round it when going to bed. If you feel it getting hot overnight, get up and re-apply germolene. The piriton or other antihistamine is good for fighting itchiness from inside apparently, got same advice yrs ago from pharmacist.
