    With horizontal dropouts does it matter where along the dropout the axle is bolted to as long as its the same on both sides?
    Is there any reason why you would be slightly more forwards then rearwards?
    Doesn’t seem like the amount of adjustment available would make a huge/noticeable difference to wheelbase thus agility over stability so is there any other reasons?

    it needs to provide enough tension to keep the chain on.

    Get it slammed as far forward as you can though, bikes ride much better for it.

    forgot to mention this is with regards to a SS.
