If i was to buy an item with free postage from AVT.Bike with a total order value of $29.95 would i get screwed for tax, vat etc when going through customs.

Not worth ordering if i get hit for a huge parcel force handling charge.

I would normally budget for 20% taxes. But the sh ites in the post office/parcelfore take a £12 (i think) “handling fee” on top of any duty.

Govt info on buying from abroad

You might get away with it – you are meant to pay VAT on items over £15 from non-EU countries, but no import duty on items under £135. I’ve bought stuff from the US (mostly records) for between £50 and £80 and got away with it, but got stung for some £20 bike bits.
