I’m about to swap my Avid BB7 road brakes for new hydro Shimano R785 Di2 brakes. I’m currently running 160mm Avid rotors and will be looking to run 160mm Ice Techin their place. From what i can see the R785 brakes do not come with adapters and are desgined to work with 140mm rotors. So will my current Avid adapters work with the R785’s?

    Hope that makes sense.

In a nutshell, IS and postmount are standards.

Without checking specs, I’d suggest that if the Shimano brakes are intended to run 140 without adaptors and the Avids are running 160 with, you’re in with a shout once you fit the 160mm rotors. In fact I would be surprised if this did not work.

FWIW I have adaptors looking very much like +20’s holding the Shimano BRR517’S to my cross with RT66 160’s.

Should work with the same adaptors, remove the Avid calipers along with their long bolts and CPS washers and bolt the shimano calipers in their place using the bolts supplied with the new calipers.
