? are Elixir a better product, on gfs bike rear Juicy 3 has been grief one too many times now, so looking at cheap replacement options, I have a preference for hope mono mini – as mine have worked for years but they seem to be a lot more than juicy/elixir, loathe to use another juicy – so looking at elixir – is it good idea ?

alternatively – is there anything else that juicy pads fit that would work

    Thanks

Elixr’s are better than Juicy’s but still pretty crap. If I were you I would go for something like shimano slx and not worry about the £15 you’re losing out on on pads as you’ll easily spend that on paracetamol to get rid of the headaches the avids cause.

Deore’s are highly rated too. I’ve just got some SLX and they are nice.

The juicys on my missus bike leaked at the level and moisture got into the fluid, so every time the bike was left the brake would need a bleed to get rid of the binding. Total ballache.

The elixirs on my bikes have been fine, if a little fiddly to bleed
