    Hi,

    I need to burn a video file to CD/DVD for playback on a DVD player. The video file is .Avi will a DVD player play that type of file or must it be mpeg ?

    It’s about 500mb.

    ive just used dvd flick, having been recommended it from here.. it works well to change the avi file into dvd readable stuff. Then use dvd fab5 to burn the dvd..

    You need a converter like ConvertXtoDVD. Don’t think they are free and are a pain in the ass.

    i gather if i just burn the avi file to a CD it will read on a PC with DVD player software etc etc or Windows media ?

    avi will play on PC, not on dvd player, use dvdflick it’s free and very easy to do
