    Morning Singletrack,

The Mrs and I are planning on going camping for a couple of days in the Lake District in September. We’re looking for a decent campsite to pitch up (tent), preferably near to some decent walking and a good pub or two.

    Any recommendations?

Low Wray would be high on my list.

Rydal hall for the underfloor heating in the toilet/showers block. You’d have to go into Ambleside for the pub, there is a hotel bar.

It’s been a while, but Sykeside has good pub on site, drying room, shop (or it did).

Wasdale Head probably for the quality walking, decent pub as well

Hollows farm at grange in borrowdale. Lovely location.
I stayed there with my laal lad t’other week.
It’s situated at the bottom of Castle Crag bridleway, on the borrowdale bash. 🙂
    Chance of rain 95%.

Sykeside is nice, good facilities. They don’t allow large groups, so less chance of being kept up by pissed students etc.

    Langdale NT is good.

Coniston Hall … Coniston, decent toilet / shower blocks, 10 mins to some pubs and close enough to get out into the hills

    Another vote for Conistan Hall.

Make sure you buy rock pegs. You’ll need ’em.

We just got back from the lakes. It was soggy.
