Might conceivably find myself in the Linz/Salzburg area next weekend with nothing to do (working Thurs/Fri and Mon/Tues) – worth driving instead of flying and taking a bike? Company pays either way, just the hassle of a 13hr solo drive each way vs. the PITA that is air travel with multiple tool cases.

I know it’s only an hour to the edge of the Alps but will I be able to find decent trails easily enough?

Hi The roads in the valleys round Salzberg are flat and fine for road biking. Get out to Grodig and takes the cable car to the Untersberg. Still sking at the summit at the moment I think.
