Bloke pulled up to the cafe we were in on a penny farthing.

Was he wanting us to look at him, d’you think? Hardly a practical way to get to the cafe… Then again, does it matter if he’s attention seeking?

If the answer to the second post is ‘nothing’ then the answer to the first is yes

He might have been out training

They do look fun. You don’t think he could’ve been having fun do you?

Just normal polo shirt and shorts from what I can remember. No helmet either 🙂

You don’t think he could’ve been having fun do you?

That’s what the thread is about.

I cycle to the caff despite the fact that going by car would probably be more practical.

you would have learnt more talking to him about his steed than asking us what his motivation was
So to answer your question I have no idea what the complete stranger was doing in a unknown location on that bike

I think this looks like a proper use of a penny farthing

moley, I think you were just upset that his steed made your STW Dandy Horse look a little silly.

Of course. However I don’t really care to know the exact truth (obviously since I know none of you were there), this thread is more an academic exercise.

It’s about as academic as the tangleberry currently causing my hairy arse to itch.

no more than anyone who rides a 29er, single speed, fixie or some other less than ideal mode of transport.

why ride to the cafe at all?

its not about the destination, its about the journey 🙂

Its the same bloke who is responsible for all of that as well.

    There is no destination. 😀

You could say that about anyone chosing to ride a bicyle over driving a car or walking and I think in many cases you’d be right.

    Too slow!

Riding a bike is a lot more practical in many situations.
