A friend of mine has asked me to go to the Atls Mountains in Morocco for ten days in May. The place he wants to go to is Azlil (Aslil) not sure of the spelling ? He says it’s good for biking with plenty of cheap accommodation etc, has anyone here been there, any other experiences of the Atlas mountains to tell ? Me, never been to Africa before but have been to central and south america.

    What’s it like ?

    cheers,

I went trekking in December a few years ago. It is pretty desolate but amazing country side. We trekked from Aslil IIRC on a 3 day trek and saw 2 British girls as the only “outsiders”. After an hour we left the roads and up until the last 2 hours on the last day we walked on paths only accesable by foot or donkey. Might see if I can get some photos up later. It was very cold at night, but there were beds on the roof of the bunk houses we slept in for the summer. I wanted to bike but there was nothing there when we were there as it was off season. Much prefered it to Marrakech (sp?)

I would love to go back and do some biking
