Have just bought a PC off Ebay and the graphics card has been updated to an ATI Radeon 3470 (with HDMI output). My question is: having only needed to use laptops for the last few years, I'm out of touch with monitor connections, etc, and I'd like to know if this card will connect to any normal TFT (which I need to buy ASAP)?

Can't find any solid info on the web, other than it supposedly has VGA as well as HDMI outputs. In which case I guess the VGA side makes it fine. However, an AV person reckons it might only connect to DVI, in which it'll need a HDMI-DVI convertor.

Would like to know the score before I order the screen.

    Cheers all

Nearly all decent screens have DVI and VGA inputs

i got my laptop hooked upto my widescreen tv, not really into this sort of thing but from what i recall

hdmi – dvi with adapter or cable
vga – vga with adapter or cable
dvi – vga ok with adapter or cable
hdmi – vga not ok, unless you can now get cables with built in conversion as digital to analogue conversion is needed

Yup depending on the age of the monitor it'll least have DVI some have HDMI though and many other combinations.
