FInally turned up after six months wait, got it built up. And yet, I’m sat here not riding it because the brake pads are down to the metal and I’ve got no spares. Really pleased witht efinish, and they’ve clearly put thought into the cable routing, etc. Can’t wait to get out on it.

Just had first proper spin on it, after a broken valve and burst tube derailed me on Sunday. If nothing else, I got to see that the dropouts don’t cause any faff when changing a flat, I thought they’d be more hassle.

Early days, and allow for the rose tint of a new bike, but brilliant fun. Just flies over roots, hits jumps and drops lovely, and the grip on the plus tyres is silly (they drag a bit on some surfaces uphill, mind). Never felt like it was long or awkward, even on tight between-the-trees forest trails.

Bit of fiddling needed with the forks – have four tokens in but still used all the travel tonight. Didn’t notice a harsh bottom out or anything, but surprised I used so much, would like a little in reserve. Maybe another few psi. Might need a bigger chainring too – there’s a bit more clearance than Last suggested, so I can probably have a 30 or 32t on there. Needs a new upper headset too, it’s a campy style IS41, so I need a Hope 7 instead of a hope 3, it’s bodged with a 30mm BB spacer right now.

Good to hear you’re enjoying it. 😀
Do you have any pictures of the clearance at the chainstays?

No, but I can post one tomorrow…. the gap is very full of mud and pine needles right now so a pic isn’t going to show you much

    That’d be great thanks.

A day late, but I finally got round to cleaning it. That’s a 28t on there, with a 51mm chainline – they recommended 30t max for 52mm, but I think they were fairly conservative there.
