My Warranty for my T5 ran out 3 weeks ago. and now the warning light for the catalytic converter has now come on. What do i do? Is it expensive? What happens if i keep driving it? (like I have all weekend)
Do yo think the vw dealer may turn a blind eye and do it on waranty?

    Grrrr

Are sure it's the catalytic light and not the DPF light?

    I dont know, i'll have a look.

Ive looked and it isnt, that one has come on before but i just rev it and it goes away.

I had ours come on (passat) at Christmas as a result of a misfire.
Get it diagnosed by someone with the right kit.
I looked at prices for new cats at the time, and was pleasantly surprised how reasonable (< £150) they can be had for.
    Good luck.

Edit: obviously price depends on specific model.
