    or more importantly do they come with a blanking plate like the latest XT shifters?

    The blanking plate is inside the unit – attached to the underside of the indicator.

    Excellent! I’ve taken mine apart previously hoping to do the same as I wanted to run it inboard of my lever but just not spotted it – thought I’d probably mislaid the blanking plate when new. Job done 🙂
