  • Are mtb goggles different to ski goggles?

Having giggled at a teenager wearing a full face mtb helmet when skiing, I’m hesitant to make a similar ‘mistake’ by wearing my ski goggles for downhilling.

Are they that different? Anyone worn ski goggles to downhill?

    single lenses vs dual lenses.

heavy tints vs clear. – I’ve almost never needed anything but a clear lens in the UK. gets dark in them woods…

I have used safety Google’s from screw fix before. If they fit and are not too tinted (as above that would be my biggest concern) don’t worry

I haven’t used tinted to reduce light, however the persimmon.orange tinted lenses are bloody great for enhancing definition in low light.

Dual layer lenses are great in the winter with a DH lid, stops an awful lot of steaming up.

I’ve always used snow goggles but bought clear lenses for them (dual).

Good downhill goggles will have fixing points for tear offs, ski goggles don’t
