I need to run some full length disc brake cables.

Are Shimano, Jagwire, Clarks…. all much of a muchness? There could be a bit of friction all the way along a CX bar to a rear disc.

    Shiamno EVERYTIME!
Yes they’re more expensive but the quality of the inner plastic liner inside the housing is much higher quality.
You could spend silly amounts on teflon this and gore-tex that but the extra expense on those is hard to justify.
Shimano deffo best value for money.

I asked the same question earlier this week on various forums (fori?) and there were some advocates of ‘compressionless’ outers such as jagwire and yokazuma, and Gore were slated generally. I’ve tended to run Shimano on mine in the past but this time I’ve bought some jagwire ripcord, so we’ll see how they fare (not fitted them yet).

Full length outer on all my bikes (Cable discs on all) I’ve had good results with Jagwire Ripcord and there’s usually good deals on full sets on EBay.

My 8 year old road bike still has its original gore cables
Not tried them on anything that gets muddy though
