Anywhere doing a good price on "decent" cassettes? And what it a decent?

Looking at something like a PG980 and CRC/Merlin seem to be the usual suspects for a decent price.
Apart from weight (not an enormous concern, but a nice bonus) would it last any longer than say a PG950 or similar.

I'd go XT tbh, lighter for the same money.

Thought the XT might be an idea, the spider bit holds one more sprocket so I guessed it might be a little lighter, but how about durability, is the extra cash all about weight or is some of it durability? (excluding mega bucks titanium stuff etc.)
