Bizarre post of the day perhaps!

Had hardwood ‘real’ kitchen worktops for a few years and a few times per year I sand them down and re-oil them.

Done it yesterday lunchtime and in parts it’s still Tacky. Have I applied too much?

    I’m using Junckers Oil.

    Thanks

Did you wipe off the excess after 20 mins or so?

Yes the wooden worktops can only absorb so much and just wipe off with White Spirit

Has the oil been stored in a garage or shed? Could be the cold has somehow got to it and affected it.

No didn’t wipe off the excess but the oil had been stored in a cupboard under the sink so a little cold perhaps but not too chilly.

Will the White spirit take it all off or just the excess / tacky ?

Just the excess and the under the cupboard stored will be fine.
