Indeed. More like ‘Anyone want to see the moment just before I break my arm’.

Bitterly so! 6-8 weeks in plaster for that!

The Go-Pro hit the deck and switched off, presumably it misses the last second or so!

Damn these dry trails with those lack of grip!

    Hope you heal fast.

If it makes you feel better, you manage to save it in this version:

Does that bell not drive you nuts? It was irritating me after about 10 seconds.

Hi. Commiserations. If it makes you feel any better I broke my collarbone in 4 places and concussed myself on a pratt fall OTB moment as I came out of the end of the labyrinth at Swinley. Air ambulance time and me seeing things in black and white negative style (which was actually quite cool!)

That needs the Benny Hill chase music Jamie.

Oh god the WAITING. Every wiggle, every time the hand comes off the bars, every time you’re a bit close to a tree… I hate injury vids with a looooong run in. Its like Final Destination…

Did not realise you had to pedal @ Swinley thought it was point and go looks rather mind numbing!

What’s all the clicking and cracking going on? At the very least you’ll have time for some root cause analysis 😕

    Healing vibes! 😉

I feel for you such a crappy way to break an arm!

Your arms look really really long, a break is inevitable.

The clicky cracking…apparently its the go pro mount, and can be prevented by inserting the white silicone thing that at first glance just looks like an un-neccesary extra security for the clip. I’ve never got round to trying it but apparently that is the solution…

Is your bell ringing by its self? why have you got a bell?
Even Swiss cows would get pissed off with that.

The usual call is skills lessons but I think you need to start with a Cycling Proficiency badge, the one where they teach you to steer round cones in the school playground without falling off 🙂
PS “The gopro turned off when I crashed” doesn’t wash with me you just didn’t want us all to hear you crying like a baby 🙂
Get well soon and kudos for posting.

A decent suss fork and the mechanical grip would have saved your broken arm.

Haven’t been to the ‘new’ Swinley but that looks terrible, what have they done to it!?
You may as well be riding on a canal towpath, it looks far too manicured and smooth, looks pointless taking a mountain bike there now…. please tell me it gets more technical in places?

Just imagine what could have happened if you hadn’t been wearing a helmet…. Serious death

That looked like a proper school boy error crash

True but a suspension fork doesn’t go with single speeds or beards.

hope the arm heals, but wow that was a dull trail. The ince of gravel on the fire road looked to be the only technical feature!

At least they have got rid of enough trees to make 800mm bars get round easily though.

Actually Swinley is one of the UK’s top freeride parks.

Yup, it’s to clear out ant slower riders, actually it first appeared when i had the swift and someone commented that they supposed it would make a nice town bike, so i got it a bell.

Agree about the trail, by far the worst bit of Swinley and it’s all new!

God punishes those who shun technology.

Healing vibes to you. I’ve fractured my elbow on a fairly innocuous bit of track. Was rather embarrassed that it’s wasn’t more gnar at the time!

EXACTLY what happenned to me on Monday night, stupid loose gravel sent me off to the side. Thankfully no broken bones, but ended up with 2 stitches in my knee,

    Get well soon OP 🙂

So just how did it actually break then ?

Did you land with your arms stuck out like sticks ? Did you not roll with the fall ?

I reckon he had actually fallen asleep on that bit of trail…
