Been out riding tonight around Ladybower and a mate left his bike on a towbar rack in the pub car park. Locked on with a wire cable lock. Exposed car park in plain view of the pub.

got home and realised that all the wheel straps had been removed and the wire lock cut, only the strap holding the frame to the rack was left. Keep your eyes open if you’re using the pub car park. Happened just as it was getting dark. Didn’t notice anyone hanging around the car park so they were being careful.

Was the bike lost? Do you think they intended for the bike to fall off on transit and then they follow and collect? I’ve known this happen to kayaks on roof racks.

No, he’s got the bike. lucky it stayed on the rack though! Twisty national speed limit roads back so it wouldn’t have been much use if it fell off :-0
