I bought one of the WTB ss cogs from CRC:

The trouble is, the teeth on the cog seem a little big and the chain kinda locks onto the teeth. I am using a KMC Z510 SS chain which is 1/2″ x 1/8″ and the cog is for a 1/8″ chain so that shouldn’t be an issue.

I am wondering if after a ride or 2 the teeth will wear very slightly and the chain will release easier and it will be OK or is it wrong and should I get a different one or replacement?

New or old chain? Or is these a direction of rotation? (although I never heard of such a thing and am just guessing wildly)

Sorry brand new chain and new cog. Couldn’t see rotation markings but might be worth switching it around and trying.

Just thought, splines would be the wrong way round, won’t go on backwards?
