I live in N Wales so can get to Dublin on a ferry crossing, and there is a train from Dublin to Galway that takes about 3hr.

Connemara looks stunning and rural enougj to make a v pleasant cycle trip for 5 or so days. Obviously the W coast of Ireland will always have a degree of wet and windy, but it does look ideal.

Anyone have any experience of the area? Camping or B and B? Thanks
