I think that he was doing this. To be fair he never originally claimed to be able to mix, just to be a producer. I remember a hospital records night where his mixing was pretty shonky...think he's got good now though!
At the end of the day if a DJ is playing ace tunes and making the dancefloor erupt then I couldn't care less if he's actually mixing live so long as the mixing is good anyway!

The Hospital Records podcast is well worth a listen for anyone that's in to D&B.
New episodes come out every week or two and it's normally got loads of great tunes here:

Congo Natty - awesome!
Always liked the ones with Top Cat. I used to DJ D+B quite a bit and we did a gig with him once - friendly chap but very hard to tell what he was on about half the time.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIN2Ybt-wWgIn terms of modern stuff I don't really follow it that much but I really like a lot of Noisia's stuff - their production values are amazing.

there was nothing quite as uplifting as sitting in a big queue of overheating cars in the middle of nowhere in the dead of night.. and then spotting lazers in the sky as you wound down the window and heard this floating over the tops of the trees through the mist..

i love a bit of the drum and bass!!
i might be 34 with a child but the little guy loves it too and he's not even 4 yet.
i have to admit that i do like the live set recordings, as i dont have the time to go to d'n'b raves any more.
andy c, brockie, mampi swift, ed rush & optical, ray keith, kenny ken, zinc, hype, adam f, j majik, shy fx...the list is endless.
add these guys to some truly wicked mc's such as skibadee, shabba d, dynamite, dett, conrad, ecksman, bassman, trigga and of course stevie hyper d...
it's good to see that its becoming more acceptable in the mainstream...guys like andy c, shy fx, drumsound and bassline smith and pendulum should be thanked for that.
i always look forward to getting the latest copy of knowledge or atm magazine if only for the free cd...Posted 8 months ago # -

33 - 2 kids here
Love anything from Hospital Records + Magnetic Man etc.
Not strictly D&B but this takes me back to when I saw the Man With No Name live in Portsmouth many years ago:

i do have fond memories of Homelands 2002 when andy c was finishing his set off and was teasing the crowd with bodyrock...until mc dynamite came onto the stage and started bashing the decks and andy c with a large inflatable hammer!! absolutely priceless!!

Good to see some of the old classics.
Something a bit more recent from Noisia, the masters of production,. Make sure you listen to this with good speakers and turned up loud. (oh and the video is pretty cool as well)

Years ago I lived next door to Generation Dub - Original Sin, Taxman and whatever the other one decided to become called.
lovely lads and really feel proud that they made it big, as they always said they would.Posted 8 months ago # -
Quite often listen to Fabio & Grooverider on the iplayer, although I'm more of a Fabio fan than Grooverider. Very occasionally the essential mix has a DnB DJ/ producer on - I've downloaded London Elektricity, High Contrast and Blame in recent years.
Particular favourites at the mo have to be High Contrast remix of Adele's Hometown Glory link and the Nu Tone remix of Miss Dynamite/ Neva Soft
