Looking for a villa in Southern Italy for 6-8 people for next Summer and having trouble finding a good villa-finding website. What do you use? I’ve been given a budget of about £1000/week and I’ve no clue what to expect to get for that for a 3-4 bed.

HomeAway is the best starting place. And given the way French sites that were once independent seem to have been consumed by it, I wonder if it’s probably becoming the Amazon of holiday lets.

FWIW I suspect you’ll have to double your budget (at least) to get anywhere half decent.
