    I have been given a letter draughted by HR to send to an employee detailing the exhaustion of her CSP and the inception of SSP.

    I’m her line manager and I’m happy to outline
    the policy to her but should my name be on the letter? I thought HR would do that given they wrote it. As I say, I have no issue with the policy, more so the protocol.

    Never been in this position.

    Line manager share the offical line, gives you a route of escalation if she gets bolshie.

    Yes, line management responsibility. HR’s responsibility is to make sure you fulfil company policy / legal requirements.
