pleased to hear he’s doing well – at the risk of sounding totally ignorant, was this a planned procedure for his heart (has AF of similar IIRR) or something else ?

either way, best wishes to you Tony

Well it’s good he’s out of the ITU, that’s always the first step… I think you spend 24 hours in there monitored/under observation as a matter of course.

It sounded like pretty major surgery and it’ll take time to be back up and running.

    Wishing him a speedy recovery.

His lad says he’ll be out this side of the weekend.
I guess that doesn’t mean beers in North Bar on Saturday but it’s progress.

Imagine how much anaesthetic it took to put him under, it’ll still be wearing off now.

Someone send him a scratch and sniff card with the odour of Beer on it, that’ll wake him up 😆

if all went exactly to plan my expectation is 24hrs ICU followed by a similar timescale in HDU then best part of a week on ward..

things rarely go to plan and as your in a queue issues before you can hold up the men with knives for hours/days.. never mind your own procedure..

I’m sure he’s ok. Besides, there were only 5 in Westlife – it wasn’t really the point.

Missed the other thread and glad to here things seem to have gone well.

Look forward to seeing you back on here and back on a bike soon. There are fewer and fewer names on here from the ‘good old days’ so all the best for a full and speedy recovery 😉

firstly, i would like to thank everyone for all the good luck/get well wish. proper awesome everyone…. 8)

the pic above posted by druidh is not the outcome planned by my surgeon or me. and it came as a monster of a shock to wake up to it.
i went in for keyhole to remove my left atrial appendage, to stop blood pooling and reduce the risk of stroke massively.
when the surgeon went in, he saw my pulminary vein was perforated, and stopping ablations working.
he removed the sack, patched the vein, ablated me and for the 1st time in nearly 5 years in am firing on all cylinders in a proper sinus rhythm.
    and hopefully will remain so.

now enough of the boring shit………who has got a XL carbon tallboy going cheap……………… 8)
