Thought I’d got away with it, but tests have come up as having glaucoma (thanks mum!).

They’ve offered me some laser treatment to basically drill a couple of holes in each eye to relieve the pressure. Doesn’t sound ‘fun’ but hoping it’s relatively painfree/unannoying.

Anyone had experiences? Back at work the next day (or can I wangle a week off as a sickie?!)?

Still, on bright side, if they have to peal off half my face to rebuild my eye socket next year (long story) it’ll be the least of my worries.

as you say thanks mum – my mum had it done and went back to sewing, knitting and doing crosswords, recovery seemed quick so other than working out how to avoid some quite boring leisure time activities you’ll be fine

Cheers! I’m assuming your mother already knew how to knit and thats not a side-effect of the operation? 😛
