I dont know if its ok to put this on the classifieds section. I paid 'chunkeymonkey' a pair of HTII cranks (£45), over a month ago and still havent received anything. I have sent numerous emails.
Has anyone bought from this user? had any problems?

I'd start a witch hunt on the bike forum - 4 weeks is too long and you'll get more coverage in the main forums.
i'm pretty sure i bought some slx cranks for 45quid from this person a few weeks ago,got them through fine,missing the pedal washers and no communication since but seemed genuine. might be wrong,only have limited internet access so can't check properly.[u]

I know that the postal service has been shockingly slow recently. I have posted things that have taken 3 weeks to be delivered. Suggest you ask for a tracking no or proof of postage....

It's the no response to numerous emails bit that is not on in my book. I've had mostly excellent buying (and selling) experiences on here but three not so good, which is a shame. One was sorted satisfactorily, one is pending and the other misdescribed items and completely ignored my emails (and that was someone with loads of posts on here). A feedback system would be good but probably not that easy to implement.
Unless the item is very low value I always get a number. Hopefully there will be a straightforward explanation and you can then confirm it on here but I don't blame you for posting.

Chunkymonkey is a good lad and there will be an explanation, he has even helped people out on here before by collecting something from a store for them and then posting out to them!! Give the bloke a chance to explain before the witch hunt starts.

I just suggested that a post on the main forum might get a better/quicker response.
And I posted a link to another issue that someone had where you offered to mediate but there was a limited response and then someone else chipped in and was expecting communication too?
It doesn't matter if there's an explanation or not the issue is why hasn't it been provided already?
No-one expects perfection fromt he classifieds - just good communication. It shopuldn't rely on the sellers mates kicking him into action every time he makes a sale and fails to deliver.
I'm sure he's a nice chap and all but why does it need you to defend him?

Will1 ...perhaps you can get in touch with your buddy and suggests he posts the explanation so that future buyers will know they won't be messed about ..as it seems a number already have. Not too much to ask a "good lad " surely?
the point whether he is a good chap or not is moot- on this forum, you advertise, you sell and you deliver- as quickly and reliably as possible.
I have been selling and buying stuff for years on here and I reckon in all that time I had one disappointed customer who found the bearings shot on a wheel and I honestly didnt know so gave him 10% of his money back for replacement bearings - recently bought a Lapierre frame that needs a respray and the condition was certainly not as described BUT I am perfectly happy that there is always some movement in what some people see as 'good condition' versus the reality. After all - its only my bike tart tendencies that wants a perfect looking machine.
You are all right that a degree of pragmatism is indeed necessary in classified sales BUT when someone pays you -you get it packed posted and sorted as soon as- that is the only acceptable solution. Any other shite excuses are just not right. Sort it mate- if you have someones cash it is your responsibility to send the goods asap.

ChunkeyMonkey bought a helmet cam from me.
He collected it so I met him.
I don't know him personally but he seamed like a genuine fella to me.
