My Australian gf and I are beginning to think about the future and researching ways for her to eventually become a UK citizen. It’s a really not-fun subject that’s forcing us to make life choices so many years ahead but hopefully STW might have some success stories.
It seems the easiest way is for her to apply for a 5-year Ancestry visa (her gran was born in the UK) and then it looks like you can apply for indefinite leave to remain and then citizenship?
The Spouse visa route seems like a more uncertain process…?
Tell me it’ll be OK! The Home Office seems like a scary beast.

What visa is she on now?

If the answer is anything other than ‘She is in oz’ you might have to look at other options https://www.gov.uk/ancestry-visa/overview

You don’t need to be in your home country to apply, just outside the UK.
