Anyone got a Atera GIRO AF+ aluminium bike carrier ? Any good or would I be better with a Thule proride?

Yes, I’ve got two of them. Solid and well made, do the job nicely. Never had a reason to look at anything else.

I’ve got atera roof bars, they are superb. Top notch quality if that helps

I’ve got two. They’re OK, but don’t feel as solid IMO as the Thule equivalents.

I had a situation a few years back where the locks on both wouldn’t engage on the clamp arm. This meant the only thing holding the clamp shut was the spring tension.
20 mins trying time and again in the pouring down rain eventually got them to lock.
Since that happened I now use a bungee strap around the clamp as a matter of course, as a back-up securing method.

Thanks for the replies, I can get one for £60 so think I will go for it.

I do tend to add a strap to all racks as I have had a bike fall out before. Luckily it was held in by the tire straps and fell into the other bike on the roof.
