  • Anyone fitted a Bung in to an On One Carbon fork?

    Hi
I have bought an on one carbon monocoque tapered fork, it’s completely carbon.
I have also bought a bung from on one to fit, the problem is its so hard to fit.
I have called them and it’s the right bung for the fork.
This really should almost push in but it is far to tight.
    Anyone fitted one before?
    Thanks in advance.

I had exactly the same issue.

The ID of my steerer was far too small for the two bungs I tried – a KCNC one and an OO one.

I called OO and they sent be a carbon plug meant for an 1″ steerer. All was fine from there on.

Bit of a bodge but no issue in use.

I did the same in calling them, they said if it’s tight give it a little knock with a rubber mallet, it’s supposed to be tight.
I actually took the bung apart put the bolt in the lower part of the bung to knock it in to get it started, although I put the bolt as far as I could in I bent the bolt and ruined it. They are sending me another FOC.
But I still have to fit it.

The BBB Powerhead Compression Adjuster one just pushes in. £10 from CRC.

    I would phone them back!

It’s not right to need to “tap” them in.

I’d worry about ‘tapping’ one in to fit a carbon steerer. It’s not a star nut in a steel steerer!
