    Hi all,

Im doing a charity bike ride across Death Valley in Nevada over 5 days. I am doing it in September when the temperature will be a bit lower (20-25 degrees) and its all on road, but I am looking forward to it.

Its for Child Reach International, a fairly young charity dedicated to helping third world and developing countries communities so that the forthcoming youth can live in a safer, better and healthier environment.

I have already paid over £200 to Child Reach and I am going to donate more, but my aim is to raise £1400 before I go.

I'd be very grateful if you could donate any small amount to my cause. If you would like any more information on the ride or to take part please visit: http://www.childreach.org.uk and for donations please visit http://www.justgiving.com/Douglas-King.

    Thanks everyone!

    Doug

Looking through the blurb it looks like 50% of any money donated goes to a commercial company rather than the charity?

Ian, they give us an aim of £1400, though I have talked to the organisers and it can be less. Again, I questioned the 50% of the donation and this is to go towards running costs of the events. Things like bike hire, guide hire, food, insurance and equipment.
