Yes, bunch of us going, all on fat bikes. We’ll be the ones playing load disco music and trying to finish a late breakfast as everyone else pedals off (again) 😀
Was a great event last year until I passed out on a table at the pub in the evening.
Not sure about better weather though, forecast is rain until 2pm?
Well, it was good, and I certainly got uptonogood helped quite considerably by the local Upton cider. Weather behaved itself, had a lovely ride over the downs, then sat in the sun listening to bands. Then went to the pub, then danced until the small hours, then managed to climb into my sleeping bag but didnt quite make the caravan. Awoken Sunday morning half under the gazebo by a local dog-walkers dog. Watched the Red Kites circling for a bit, ate a bacon sarny and went home 😀
This is one of the most chilled, fun events I’ve done. Hats off to Bob and Lindsey and all the other organisers/helpers, you made a lot of people very happy. I can’t believe how many kids there were riding, and they were still smiling when they got back! Here’s some photos:

I can’t post any pics after this, as it may incriminate people!
Yeah, it was a great event, although some how i didn’t enjoy the ride as much this year 😕
(last year the conditions were horrible and i loved it, this year, i found the dry smooth trails a bit, er, boring. Suspect i might have become more of a gravity rider than an XCer these days…. 😉
After we did the 35miler we were marshaling on the route of the other loops and everyone was all smiles! Even the young kid who arrived at about Mach10 at our water station, then found his handlebars had come off (yikes!) so he couldn’t steer or brake, still loved it!
(luckily, after teaching my sisters two daughters to ride, i am “expert level” at arresting errant and out-of-control kids on bikes!!)
