    I want to download things like TV episodes to watch later. I want to watch on my TV so I need actual WMVs or similar – Sky Player desktop for instance doesn’t work on my media centre extender.

    I’m thinking of Hulu (I have a VPN connection to the US) and there are several Hulu downloader/converter apps out there but they either a) cost or b) crash.
