and how is this compared to old(ish)RP23? (which I like very much by the way plushness wise)..I am not very familiar with Rockshox world, from the specs I read between the two it seems the only difference is RL has no lock out and about 40g lighter, I have no idea performance wise as I cannot find specific review for the RL.

price difference between RL and RT3 is about £56

doesn’t the L stand for lockout? I have an RT, threshold rather than lockout which I rarely use. Its a good shock.

I was researching this subject recently and it seems there’s no difference in damping quality up until the latest 2016 models.

Google for Monarch RT3 2016 improvements for more info on that.

I actually have an RT on one bike and an RT3 on the other and the RT is probably the better shock, as it has the Debonair can.

I didnt know there is an RT …or you mean RL? I can only find RT3 ..im after 165mmx38 so im limited to this option I think, and I cannot find with a debonair can.

RT is a popular OE shock.

Debonair can not available in shorter lengths.
