Iv been offered a great deal on a 2018 model. Im after a bike i can use for everything including hitting some big stuff in the alps, is this the bike to go for?

(i was considering a yt capra until i got this offer that changed my mind)

It’ll handle the big stuff fine. Just don’t crash it as the knock block is pretty weak. Or order a spare for when you do have a crash and it breaks.

£400 off YTs at the mo. The YT will handle big stuff better with a slacker head angle, 10mm more travel up front and 15mm more at the back.

Very nice bikes that ride amazingly well.

But…before you ride it, take the frame completely apart to greases all the axles, bearings and torque everything up correctly. Current Trek’s are responsible for some of the loudest creaking, cracking and shortest bearing life I’ve ever seen.

And yeah, that knock block is a bit of a gimmick. I think I could out crash that thing easily given my past performance.
