I’m working overseas at the moment and as usual the level of incompetence is amazing. The surveyor we have keeps giving me hand written survey points, thousands of them which are as much sue as a chocolate fireguard.

It transpires he has AutoCAD, however he has no way of getting the data off the total station to the computer. Now there is an SD Card slot, a usb port and a data out cable port but no cable or software so he takes it to the one place in the city once in a blue moon to get it on a CD.

This is a total nightmare, so what do i need to get him to get him setup, do i need a data cable or will the SD card work, and does he need software to do it or can it be exported as a points file? I have no idea on these matters, i assumed it came with the surveyor territory but clearly we have half a surveyor here.

Its a Sokkia SET6 50rx if that helps
