We had an ensuite bathroom added to one of our bedrooms with a very small dormer to give headroom over the shower.
We had it leaded and *had* thought the roofer did a good job. However, seen from our neighbours garden we've realised that it looks like he failed to finish the job. As you'll see from the pics it's in a really difficult location to get to and when the scaffolding was up the boards were very close to the gutter level and we failed to look underneath the ledge and see that the roof supports have been left exposed which makes me think we risk problems from animals nesting in the roofspace.

Close up
I think we can get the window out to access it from inside (with difficulty) but how should the roof be closed up? Do we just use some plywood or is this correct that it's left like this?
The roofer had some health problems so thought he was going to have to give up work and we've no way of getting in touch with him now as his mobile is dead ….
