  • Any opinions on the Olympus SP-565 Ultrazoom Camera? Good? Bad?

I’m thinking of getting one of these puppies, as it looks pretty neat and will do most of the stuff I need it for… but – I have reservations!

How is it to use? User friendly? Fast?

… or slow, clunky and annoying with loads of pointless menus?

After many years of using old skool film SLRs, This is my first proper foray into the world of digital cameras, and I’m a little concerned that I’m gonna get p’eed off with it in some way. (Slow, clunky computers annoy me enough as it is.). Old skool film SLRs just work, simply.

I was also considering its older cousin the SP-560, which is now being phased out, and as a result it is selling for tiny peanuts. It has less facile (otherwise known as ‘helpful) features, so therefore could actually be easier to use then the SP-565 and also less slow / clunky..

I think you get the picture.

Calm my doubts and fears – or tell me that my concerns about these sorts of cameras are all perfectly valid.

    Cheers!
