    Years since I bought anything like this, I have a 2 x 10 currently, would consider going 1 x 11 (if the cassette fits in the same space as the 10 speed?), currently running a bitsa Shimano set up but aiming around SLX, XT level.

    For 10 spd I’d need
    Chain
    Chainrings or chainset
    BB (current one knackered)
    Cassette

    For 11 spd
    Chain
    Chainring or chainset
    BB (current one knackered)
    Cassette
    Shifter

    Seems quite expensive to go the full XT transmission groupset +BB – where should I be shopping, what did I miss?

    I’m just looking at clearing out some 10sp spares and could probably supply most of what you’re after quite cheap.
