    I pointed this out to the wife as a change from supply teaching. Apparently I can go by myself.

    Muck is about 1 x 2 miles, with a permanent population of around 40. The school has about 6 kids. Certainly different!

    Jobs in such locations often draw a lot of applicants from people who think they want to live in a remote community. It frequently turns out that it was the idea rather than the reality they were attracted to.

    My mate got his first job in Inverness, which is a major metropolis compared to these places. Even that was too far from everyone and everything for him – 12 hour drive to see family etc.
