I've been training for a walk up and down Cadair Idris this year. Did Snowdon the steep way in 2008 and (surprising myself) enjoyed it.

Anyways, I'm going to Spain in Sept to stay with a couple of friends and couldn't help noticing that this:

was nearby, so I'm going to attempt it.

So far, I can do 30k in 5 hours in the Surrey hills with three steep but short ascents and get home without my legs feeling like they're trying to murder the rest of me, for a change.

If I keep this programme up for another, say, four sessions, do you think that'll be enough to see me up Mulhacen? In your experience?

Yeah probably, although you will notice the higher altitude. In my experience it's just about pacing, eating and drinking and MTFUing when your legs ache. Poor weather or injury might make you back off, but otherwise just start out early and go at a comfortable pace. (I always find the early starts a problem)

I'd really like to get back into hiking the hills, so I'm a bit envious.
