How does that work Beltrider? Is it some kind of suspension linkage?

Speeder the dropouts do several things, adjustment, splits to allow belt changes. The seatstay and chainstay are on plates that are bolted together. I have done 3x winters 1x belt and over 8000 miles with this setup.

Beltirder – looks like a lovely set up, thanks for sharing.

All – many thanks for the views and input, most useful. I think, on balance, I’m going to give it a crack. Prepare for MTG-like threads from me in the future 🙂

Could be a poor choice of words 🙂

TBH I wish my steel 29er had belt-compatible dropouts, I’d give it a try.

Hah no, especially if it needs changing a few times!

we saw a lot of this with the first generation Gates, typically on Trek Soho city bikes; admittedly related to debris from the highway or mishandling of belts during assembly
