Been prescribed doxycycline, on the bottle it says avoid sunlight. I’m going to Lanzarote a week today and will clearly be doing a bit of walking, biking and general lounging about in the sun. Am I going to fry?

It can make you more photosensitive. Imagine you’re as sun-aware as a freckly ginger.
    Get factor gazillion sunscreen.

Very likely, yes. It can make skin more sensitive to sunlight. How long is the course, and could your GP prescribe an alternative?

15% or so of patients get at least moderate photosensitivity reactions

Means quite a few don’t, but I’d be starting cautiously if I were you
